Hello everyone! Not only is it the 8th day of Blogmas, but today is my mom’s birthday! I thought I’d post some gems here from Christmas past to honor the occasion. Fortunately, my mom was kind enough to lend me a few old family albums last weekend when she came to visit (I hope you don’t regret that now, mom!). But seriously, these photos are great!

Here we are on Christmas Eve, somewhere in the 1980s. Back then, we always had real trees for Christmas. I still have vivid recollections of the house filled with the scent of evergreens.

We always opened a couple of presents on Christmas Eve. As you can see, my gorgeous mother is handing me an immaculately wrapped gift. That less-than-amused expression I’m wearing (along with those fab 80’s overalls and flower top!) is likely because I was made to pose for this photo, rather than tear into said gift.

I think I got a Glow Worm (they actually still make them!). The ballerina music box was for my mom. I’m pretty sure it survived the decades and currently resides in my parent’s dining room.
