It actually turned out really well.
The blackberries were from our weekend berry picking excursion, which left some of us with wicked sunburns as well as more blueberries and blackberries than we knew what to do with. A cake was obviously in order.

I used a favorite yogurt cake recipe from the Ezra Pound Cake blog. The strawberry cake from the original recipe is amazing but I used blackberries and lime zest. I also left out the canola oil.
I love yogurt cake because you can skip butter and oil and still end up with a delicious result!
