I’m sitting in our upstairs living room, watching my daughter play with our new baby guinea pigs and wondering where the summer has gone. I’m not ready for the beaches to close and school to start. I love sweaters, but not the cold weather so much. Lately, however, I’ve decided to try to be less pessimistic (or as an optimist would say, more positive).
I’ve encountered many optimistic lists lately. They seem to be a staple in the paper planner community and around the blogosphere. So I thought I’d compose a lost of things to look forward to this autumn. It can’t hurt, right?
Here goes:
1.) Burning scented candles during the day (this always feels strange in summer).
2.) Cozy fires.
3.) Wear sweaters and boots (autumn fashion 🙂 ).
4.) Drinking hot lattes outdoors in crisp (but not frigid) autumn air.
5.) Going for beach walks in the off-season.
6.) Taking Evie for walks in the woods.
7.) Halloween.
8.) Apple picking.
9.) New season of (US) Shameless–it’s one of the very few programs Nick and I watch (we also loved the UK version).
10.) Pretty fall leaves, flowers, and lots of photo ops–autumn will be a good time to improve my photography skills.
So there you have it, one decidedly un-pessimistic list. I’d love to hear what others are looking forward to. Always appreciate something else to add to the list–this sort of list anyway 🙂
So about those guinea pigs Evie is playing with . . . We adopted them from the ASPCA. They’re just one month old and very sweet! Their curiosity also makes them really photogenic. Here’s what I’ve got so far:

So that’s all for the moment. I really do plan to post more often (as the work and life schedules allow). We are also in the process of setting up and rearranging the piggies’ cage. Any suggestions about that process are also appreciated. Anyone using felt as bedding?
Until next time,
-C

Your daughter’s Guinea Pigs are so cute! 🙂 We used to have one. Pog, with the same markings. They are great pets with lots of character. 🙂

Your guinea piggies are adorable. They look a bit mischievous too. 🙂 Their names are splendid and remind me of two pigs named Hamlet and Omelette.
