Blogmas Day 19: Winter Skin Regimen Part 3-Night

Hi guys and welcome to the 19th day of Blogmas! Thanks for sticking with me this far! For the third (and final) part of this short winter skin regimen series, I’m going to talk a bit about nighttime skin care. To sum it up–skin needs its beauty sleep, and this is especially true in winter.

For years I slept with absolutely no product on my face, which was fine for the most part. But that was before I started using Retin-A. Dry skin just doesn’t do well on its own in winter. Fortunately, there are many options available to prevent skin from losing moisture while you sleep.

Before shopping for products specific to nighttime, I recommend taking a look at whatever moisturizer your using during the day. Surprisingly, many say to apply morning and evening. This is doubly true for serums and oils. I often skip the cream at night and go with one of these.

While my favorite nighttime treatment is specifically for night (the Sunday Riley Luna oil, pictured above) I’ve also used Josie Maran Argan Oil, or various non-SPF moisturizers that I’d use during the day–all with good results. Another one that works great is GlamGlow Thirsty Mud. I know I’ve mentioned this one before, but It’s got to be one of my favorite masks. It doubles as a nighttime treatment. Just apply before bed and after cleansing and wake up to incredibly soft skin!

This mask smells amazing too!

After removing my makeup with a cream/oil-based cleanser and washcloth, I apply the serum, moisturizer, or mask immediately after drying my face. Then I apply a lip balm before bed. That’s about it! It’s amazing what a couple more minutes and the right product can do for your face!

That’s all I’ve got for tonight, guys. While we’re on the topic of sleep, just 5 sleeps until Christmas! You can track it to the second on yourchristmascountdown.com, by the way. 🙂

Until tomorrow,

-Cate
